Your True Potential
In the introduction to this book Kerin explains: "A lot has happened since I published the first edition. I wrote two more books, including The Language Pattern Bible, a 500+ page reference book for practising hypnotherapists and Eternal Flames, a 327-page spiritual story based on real life events, detailing how I work with the Spirit Realm and, importantly, how I was blessed to meet my wife, Asha. My career developed and I was subsequently interviewed about my work as a psychic/medium on a number of radio stations, including BBC Radio, Hot Radio and Forest FM. Articles about my work and about my spiritual experiences also appeared in national magazines, including Chat It’s Fate, Fate & Fortune, Soul & Spirit and Spirit & Destiny. This was all a far cry from what my schoolteachers predicted in the 1960s and 1970s though. You see, when I was young, I was placed in remedial classes and not much hope was held by those in academia, it seems, about my academic potential. I found my primary school to be boring whilst my secondary school was an unruly, badly managed breeding ground of thuggish behaviour. Some of the kids I went to school with were caught beating another kid unconscious in the school toilets. One stabbed someone in a pub soon after leaving school and another, I heard on the news, murdered someone several years later. School then was not a good place to receive an academic education, it was rather an uninspiring environment, led by an incompetent Headmaster, where I learned paradoxically how not to do things. As a result, I finished school with such poor qualifications that I never bothered to collect my certificates and I then drifted from job to job, including labouring on building sites, pot washing and weeding fields, by hand, in rows. I carried a heavy ‘chip on my shoulder’, unwittingly installed by teachers and my ‘Blackboard Jungle’ type of school environment, which left me with the impression that whilst I was ‘street smart’, I wasn’t very bright, academically speaking. Then ‘fate’ stepped in! A number of important things happened at about the same time in my life. I chanced upon a copy of ‘The Success System That Never Fails’, by William Clement Stone. Out of curiosity at first, due to the boldness of the claim in the title, I read the book, but soon became inspired by the author’s words. He too had started out with challenges, but he’d learned to rise above them, whilst developing a ‘positive thinking’ approach to life. Around about this time I surprised myself by successfully completing a Mensa test I'd seen advertised in a newspaper. Using the methods outlined in this book, I took the test, with a spectacular outcome. I also became acquainted with the spiritual writings of Herbert W. Armstrong, who extolled the value of a good education, which words I took to heart. As a result of this ‘perfect storm’, with a newfound faith in my talents and my intellect, fired up with a ‘positive thinking’ outlook, I put myself into higher education, with a view to leaving the uninspiring jobs behind and doing things instead that I really liked for a living. Quickly, using the methods outlined in this book, along with a lot of help from the Spirit Realm, within a relatively short period of time I had established myself as a successful clinical hypnotherapist and tutor, with my clients including TV and radio presenters, and even a woman from the British peerage, in the form of a friend of Princess Diana – along with students including psychiatrists, doctors and nurses. More books and media publicity were to follow. I was even invited to contribute a chapter to The Clinical Hypnosis Textbook (Third Edition, 2015), by Professor Ursula James, which is a core book for the master’s degree training programme in hypnotherapy, presented at Robert Gordon University! None of which would have been predicted by my uninspiring academic beginnings. Despite a poor start, I learned that it's always possible to improve the quality of your life. This book will show you how."
