The Temple of Aurora

Research conducted by scientists at Princeton University, Arizona State University, McGill University, and by many other professionals elsewhere has demonstrated to all but the most closed-minded that there is a good body of evidence in support of life after death, telekinesis and healing, etc. The question then seems not to be whether or not there is an afterlife and a 'Hereafter', populated with spirit beings of various kinds and whether or not consciousness can influence the material world, but rather why some people who are genuinely able to interact with the Otherside get things wrong sometimes, when passing on messages from the Spirit World.

John Edward, the famous TV medium (who was tested by Arizona State University, and demonstrated to be the real deal) says on this subject that genuine mediums need to remember that they can indeed make mistakes (the scientific evidence suggests that, overall, the best mediums are about 80% accurate). My understanding is that John is of the opinion that in cases of benevolent spirit communication, while the messages that originate with the Spirit Realm are accurate, they nevertheless remain open to misinterpretation by the recipient, despite, perhaps, the best of intentions on the part of the recipient to avoid this problem. He also cautions developing mediums to beware of non-friendly spirits who have the habit of sharing genuine evidence, at first, in order to lull recipients into a false sense of security, as these nefarious spirits seek to inflate gullible egos in the process, perhaps with flattery, deluding such individuals into believing false ideas about their supposed elevated status, in order to lead them off course and entrap them. I agree wholeheartedly with John's assessment. (See the Utah Capitol Theatre episode of television documentary series called Paranormal Witness, in which Sheriff's Department Police Officers Dave Murphy, Morgan Mathews and Josh Thomas, along with Blair Fuller, Senior Accountant at the Capitol Theatre, Doug Morgan, Capitol Theatre Employee of more than 40 years and medium Greg Gittens all testified to the unwelcome, frightening, ghostly events that occurred to them at the Capitol Theatre.)

Stanislav Grof M.D. and Christina Grof have compiled an excellent book called Spiritual Emergency: When Personal Transformation Becomes a Crisis. The theme of this book regards how, as the title suggests, sometimes the process of spiritual development can take a difficult course. Opening to Inner Light, by Ralph Metzner, PhD, covers similar ground, and he too highlights the themes of death/rebirth that often occur during this process. What the work of these authors (amongst others) suggests supports the hypothesis that sometimes the process can go awry, often temporarily, sometimes permanently.

Where Does God Fit Into All Of This?

When we talk about spiritual issues, the subject of God understandably often figures in such discussions. But where does God fit in to all of this, if at all?

Strangely, it seems that we have more scientific evidence supporting the existence of the spirit realm in general (particularly with regard to the survival of our loved ones), and convincing reports of benevolent and malevolent spirits than we do of God.  It is through accounts such as these though that evidence of an elusive Intelligence that could be called God is to be found, which to my mind, makes for the best evidence that (1) there is a God and (2) that the nature of this Being is centered around love. However, this God appears to be quite different to the versions of God that have been presented to us in some of the well-known scriptures, which purport to characterise this Being. What's more, the evidence of the world around around us, where at an intrinsic level imperfection and suffering seem to be hard-wired into physical reality precludes the existence of an all-powerful and all-loving God, because germs and parasitic creatures exist which lay eggs inside other living beings, which then hatch in order for the larvae to eat their way out of their still living hosts as the hosts die due to the injuries inflicted upon them and where illness is a daily part of life - and death - for all living beings. Acts of selfishness, unkindness and cruelty occur on a daily basis - causing levels of pain and terror in some, indicating to any sensible individual that any God which might exist cannot be both all-loving and all-powerful (for example, which of us, who are not God, would fail to seek to rescue a child from being tortured to death, as happened to poor James Bulger, if we had the opportunity to do so?).

In my opinion, and it's an opinion founded on the plain evidence of the world around us, personal experience, including guidance from my spirit guide Aurora, alongside messages that have been presented to other psychics, mediums, mystics, prophets and shaman, and on the records of many of those who've undergone Near Death Experiences too - that in the benevolent spirit realm there is a powerful God of Love, but for reasons which are not yet apparent, it seems that this Being's abilities are limited in the physical world. Hence the current state of affairs in which good and evil, pain and pleasure are mixed.

In My Opinion

Personally, based on the evidence of life as it plainly exists and the evidence in favour of the reality of a spirit realm, I'm of the opinion and understanding that some of the Gnostic/Dualist insights represent a valid description of why the world is in the state it is - at a fundamental level, and of how a laboriously slow process is working its way out to resolve this imbalance, as a more powerful (but not ALL powerful) benevolent Intelligence, that we could call God, is seeking to rectify the negative influence that a less powerful (but still formidable) negative being has had on the material realm.

During this process humanity will go through events that might resemble the impending End of the World, for example, the recent World Wars and the developing repercussions of man-made climate change, over-population, lack of water and food which are taking their toll... plus likely further acts of large-scale violence  that are prone to occur (based on the track record of human history). However, gut-wrenchingly awful as such challenges are, it's my understanding, as a psychic/medium, that there isn't likely to be any Heaven-sent  Book of Revelation-style Armageddon event - although of course some gung-ho politician could attempt to bring such a horror about (some American right-wing Christian politicians are reported to have some unsettling views in this direction).
Humanity is carelessly engaging in behavious that are going to cost us dearly, requiring new ways of thinking to resolve. I've said as much in the past, sensing as I've done so that the spirit realm wants people to wake up from their semi-conscious consumption-based life styles to embrace better ways of thinking and of relating to each other.  The evidence of science on climate change and the track record of human violence suggests that you don't have to be psychic to predict the outcome of such behaviours.

Our Responsibility

I think we as human beings are far more powerful than we give ourselves credit. Indeed, I'm of the opinion that we can accelerate or impede the process of renewal by either actively seeking to make the world a better place, by living compassion-based life-styles, or we can slow things down by living selfishly, without much due care and consideration for each other, or for the other animals (of which we're one, we're all basically great apes, not far removed from bonobos, chimps and gorillas, remember) who share this planet with us, along with vegetable life and the Earth itself too. Indeed, in many ways, collectively, we have powers that resemble a god.  It's easily within our grasp to resolve many of the problems that exist in the world today - because lots of them are largely problems of character.  If we all acted with due care and consideration for the repercussions that our lifestyles caused, instantly things would improve dramatically.  It's that simple.
